Message	When I was in 5th grade thru 10th I had a crush on Leanne Casanova, we lost track of each other after that. we knew each other since we were 10 years old and we spent five of those years in the same classes. We became very close but never hooked up!!! Four years ago we stumbled across each other online. She was living in Ohio, I lived here in San Diego! Message	man...i had the biggest crush on this freshman cheerleader named marianna gay. man...i dont know where she came from but i came back into school in the fall of my junior year and saw this girl and was just blown away by this little freshman girl. i didnt really care that she was was a cheerleader(although the uniform didnt hurt her one bit). she cruised ito M.V. her freshman year and just ran the show but with no attitude about it...she just had a maturity and beauty beyond her years it seemed. she glowed. i had hair down my back and was a rock and roll guy(bare in mind..it was the 80s) but during the week i was track and cross country and lettered in both. during the week alot of running. during the weekend alot of partying on the beach north of the lifeguard tower. anyway, i never could summons up the guts to approach her because i thought she definatly would be more into a big football player and not a little skinny rock and roll track dude like me. plus she intimidated the hell out of me. so i did what any highschool dork would....i wrote her notes and had her friends give them to her like an ameurture stalker...LOL. i dont remember what they said and im sure if i did i would want to pass out from embarressment. ahhhh...high school is so bitter sweet. hey Marianna...i would talk to you in person today and explain why i was such a dork if i could. i hope your life is beautiful.

Message	I can relate totally. As a girl, I always hung out with a lot of friends who were boys (actually had more boys who were friends than girls). They said they like hanging with me because they were comfortable being around me, I wasn't the girlfriend type. Never knew if that was a compliment or not.

Message	I know better than to even look for any crushes that might involve me. I definitely remember no girls being into me at all back at Mar Vista H.S. One of the funniest stories I remember about my ability to repulse: Around 9th or 10th grade, a girl that I used to go to junior high with ended up at Chula Vista High. I guess she was asking a few of her friends at MVH if any of them knew my phone number. One (who was one of my best female friends) told her, "Why would you want to call him? I hope you're not interested in him because he's not very good looking at all." That friend went on to tell me about that conversation. Oh man, I still get good lulz from that.

As for me, there were many girls that caught my eye that i thought were hotties!!! but then, the largest part of the girls in Mar Vista were, at least they were well on there way to being hotties!!! Message	I had a few crushes throughout school. Visiting this website has stirred memories that laid dormant for so many years. Some were passing infatuations, but one just affected me in a way that I never, ever got over. Karen Palmer. She transferred to Mar Vista in the spring of 1989 from Southwest. The second I saw her, I was smitten, and so intensely, I don't think I ever had someone make that kind of immediate impression upon me before or since. I met her in the ASB office when she was getting her papers in order to be eligible to run track. I made any excuse I could to talk to her, to be around her. I think the first day we met, we (the track team) ended up at the school swimming pool because it was such a hot day. Maybe I was too chicken to ever tell her my true feelings. Part of it too was that she was sort of seeing someone who played baseball, and I certainly didn't want to get in the middle of that. But also, I was about two or three months from graduation, I wasn't sure it would be right to start something that might have to end too soon. I didn't know if I could take that. One day after school, Marc Concepcion asked me why I never asked her out. He even mentioned that she thought I was cute, that pretty much made my entire year. If I ever had any regrets about high school, there was only one: that I acted upon my feelings for her. But, the memories we had from that short spring, getting to know someone I'll never forget, someone who will always be special to me, that's a huge part of Mar Vista I'll always cherish.

Message	I guess the one girl that I had a real crush on back at Mar Vista was Karen Black. I think she was a transfer late in her tenth grade year, she would have graduated in 91. Not only was she one of the prettiest girls I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, but she was genuinely one of the sweetest, nicest people I ever got the chance to know. Unfortunately, she seemed to be dating someone when I had a major crush on her. Otherwise, I would have asked her out. Regardless, knowing her was one of the fondest memories I had of Mar Vista.
