I have never gae up on a movie until I have watched the whole thing. Other wise you can miss the whole plot which could be really good. I guess I'm concurring with ns.

Intense. Definitely a solid "R" rating with plenty of blood, brutality, and some sex/nudity.

Good acting. I didn't recognize any actors, which means I wasn't tainted by leftwing Hollywood drivel.

GREAT story line. The thing I rate movies on most: plot line. I'll give story an A+ with thumbs up. I'll read the other two books before the movies come out. Like I said: great plot.

BEST LINE: "Stop visiting those tattoo removal web sites."

I've been Netflixing the Harry Potter movies. Me and my wife have been watching the ones we didn't see with the kids when they were little. Of course I know it's all just make-believe, but I've made an observation.

I get the impression that it's a great honor to be an apprentice wizard and have those powers and go to that school. Regular people are looked down on. I'm sure most everyone in the audience wishes they could be like Harry and his priviledged buddies. NOT ME! What an f-ed up world they live in! It's full of terror and almost constant danger. I don't see it as an adventure, I see it as a nightmare. I'd rather just be a "muggle".

It's not $8.00 for a matinee in Iowa. It's $8.00 if you want to sit in the Extreme digital HD theater. It's a special thater with leather high back seats and floor to ceiling, wall to wall screen with an unbelievable sound system..

To go to a regular matinee it vaires by theater. Our favorite is $6.00.

By the way, what does it cost for a ticket to see a movie in that theater you described?

And what does it cost for a large tub of popcorn?

We loved all 3 Paranormal movies becuase it's basically a trilogy.

We also watch it in a different environment then you do. I watch it in a state of the art Theater called 'Extreme digital HD". Des Moines, IA has more movie theaters per capita than any city in the US.

This X-HD theater has a screen that goes from the roof to the floor and wall to wall, high back genuine leather seats ina stadium seating atmosphere and to top it off the most incredible digital sound system I have ever heard in my lifetime. The sound alone makes intense scary movies "WAY" better just because of the sound!!

I watch quite a bit of "Dumbest". At first I thought Court TV (now TruTV) had gone WAAAY down hill. They have, but now those shows have grown on me. I just don't understand two things. Why do they always cuss when they know it's going to have to be bleeped out? And WHO ON EARTH would EVER give Tanya Harding a job? I know they want celebs on the edge of the law...but, she is the most DISGRACEFUL person in the history of sports! She should be homeless.

Did you see the one with Pricasso? I was howlin'!

A movie about loss and grief but not a total tear jerker - enuff humor tossed in. 4 people going on an adventure to discover themselves. Acting-pretty good, story line-very believable, special effects - there weren't any. I expected more religion/God talk but actually very little.

Written, Directed, and Produced by the other Sheen son - Emilio Estevez. Starring his dad - Martin.

On a scale of 1 to 10 I give it 7.5.

What a weird, weird movie. It's almost impossible to "get into it" (if you know what I mean) because it is sooo outlandish/over the top/unbelievable.

I think it was miscast... I think two main stars should have been some other stars.

But with that said.. it's a great popcorn movie. I enjoyed it. I watched a poor pirated copy.. looking forward to seeing a good high quality copy soon.

I've got a question for you movie buffs. Thanks to Netflix, my wife and I finally got around to watching the first 2 Back to the Future movies. I know they're old, but can any of you explain something to me? The Doc CONSTANTLY warns about not running into yourself when you're traveling through time. We saw what happened when Marty's girlfriend saw herself, they both fainted dead away. But then the old guy steals the time machine and gives the sports almanac to the young guy in the 50's. But isn't that actually HIM when he's younger? They have a conversation and are together for a while and nothing happens...how come?

Saw "Midnight in Paris," Woody Allen's latest. The music and Paris in the 20s scenes are beautiful, and the portrayals of the artists of that period are fun. But the young lead actor was a pale imitation of Woody Allen. He talked, walked and whined like Woody Allen—copying all the annoying qualities of the original Woody with none of the qualities that made us love him.

I prsonally don't know of any alumnis that have ended up in prison except one for grand larson. That is the truth yes I was one of those pen poaks who had all those stamps and holes in my letters and had to be under investigation forever. The guy was from ST Charles too. Another confession. When you see those throats being cut what is it that you enjoy the most? Is it the sounds that the victim makes as their carotid arteries are slit? Or is it the blood flowing out? Or is it the sight of the knife cutting the flesh open? Or is it the sight of the victim struggling to get free?

I saw Atlas Shrugged today. Definitely a lower budget movie. No super cool Hollyweed special effects. The explosions were all shown after the fact to save money.

My biggest complaint was at times the screen seemed to flicker. That could have been the movie or the equipment in the theater - don't know.

I never read the book. This is only part one of three. I immediately headed to the used book store for a copy. They were sold out, but I had seen them there recently.

Some of Ayn Rand's predictions are right in tune with what is happening in Washington and the country today. High fuel prices, out of control labor unions, etc. The part about public opinion thinking the steel was unsafe was the scariest. Just like public opinion and Alar on apples, public opinion and vaccine/autism, etc. Very scary indeed.

I enjoyed it and want to know how it ends. I either need to go but a full retail price copy or wait until next year for part two and 2013 for part three. Amazing coincidence all three releases will be on April 15th.

One more thing: Who is John Galt?

Dang! I'm good! All I need is the new movies to play on it. Also think I have the vcr to dvd set up but haven't tested it. Trying to use the same descrambler that I used to copy those movies. I have no desire to spend one dollar on that English freak job Russell Brands movie "Arthur". Dudley Moore would just be sick to see this happening to that great movie. He's not funny one bit and his accent makes me want to murder somebody.

They are all what Europeans call "ugly Americans". But it's more then their rude and ugly behavior. I'm telling you, you can find better looking girls at the dog pound.

I heard the show is going to Italy this or next season. The Italians said they don't want them to come, because they give Italians a bad name.

I don't blame them.. they give Americans a bad name. I cant remember a group of more ugly girls in my life.

I also got into Anne Rice and have most of hers in hardback....I usually read the spookies....John Saul, Dean Koontz....etc....have 4 bookcases full of books of all subjects...lately I been reading political...have Sarah Palins, George Bushes etc...My hubby is reading books on Nam....he has never read much but I am an avid reader....I read online a lot too...I also collect old books...when we were in England we would find these little alley bookstores in Oxford and London...paid like 50 cents for 100 yr old books...I ran into a lot of English people that did not treasure their antiques and would let them go for next to nothing...they are mostly into the chrome and glass stuff....I bought a 75 yr old English sideboard for $10 at a garage sale....unbelievable!! Ok done rambling...:)

I think my favorite was "The Stand" then "Dark Half" and "It"
I did go back and read the last of "The Dark Towers".
I got hooked on Anne Rice afterwards until she changed her style.
Wish you girls were here to go watch dark movies with me.

I watched "True Grit" it was ok. But I didn't think it was as great at most people.

A couple of things though... the acting was very good, the set design was good.. and the dialogue was EXCEPTIONAL. The dialogue (language) was true to the era, I liked that a LOT.

We saw "True Grit" finally yesterday and all I can say is "WOW" We loved it. Jeff Bridges just gets better & better each movie.

The young girl who plays Mattie Ross is definitely worth an Oscar nod. Great movie and done in just the way you would expect form A Coen Brothers flick.

Is there going to be a sequel? The old lady disappeared. I take that as a sequel.
