When I was invited to participate in the contest I wasn't warned that it was a 'Mr. Legs' contest. I was only told that it would be a contest for the most handsome 'Shy' kid in school. Even then, I balked. I may have been nominated but I can assure you , I refused to get up on the platform initially. Some cheerleaders pushed me there and I didn't even have shorts like the other guys. So, it was the girls who rolled up my levi's. Man, was I 'red-faced' and 'embarrassed.' But now, I'm glad it happened and I am so thankful to Pauline Wilson for preserving the memory. - Tom McKay |
